Hello I’m seeking advice I was contacted yesterday by a lady claiming that I had a judgement against me out of Saline county fro. US Bank and that it was for 1888 dollars. After speaking to the lady and asking if I could get a payment plan and her stating she can’t because she is not a debt collector she said that she could take a hardship settlement for 778 dollars right then. Later in the day a gentleman called me and said if I didn’t have the 778 that he could take 3 payments of 259. He said it couldn’t be a scam because he has the last four of my social and my phone number. He also stated that if I don’t pay the 778 that I will have my wages garnished and bank account frozen. By the way I called Saline district and circuit courts and neither has any lawsuits with my name attached to them. U.S. Bank said that I should contact a lawyer and ask legal advice. Is this for real or a possible scam?
Hey, Justin. That could very well be a scam. If there is no judgment entered against you, then they could be blowing smoke. Would be glad to take a look, however.
